DHS Health Care Service offers a full range of health care services to Durham area residents. We are available to provide services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week according to your needs. DHS provides the service you need, whether you require a foot care visit every eight weeks, a weekly housecleaning, daily personal care or 24 hours per day of care in your home or hospital.
When you call DHS we help you to meet your unique needs. DHS comes to you and provides a free assessment to assist you to determine the services you need to meet your unique needs. We can come to your home, hospital bed or wherever you are staying to set up a Client Care Plan and Schedule. If you require immediate help we can set up services over the phone to start within 24 hours based on availability.
Services are provided by trained, knowledgeable workers. They are bonded, WSIB certified, and have medical and police clearance checks. Staff will come to your house in uniform and wearing photo identification.
DHS Services are billed privately, through insurance or DVA Funding. DHS accepts all insurance benefit coverage for services it offers. It is recommended that you call your insurance provider to confirm that services you need are covered in your plan and if your insurance requires you to have a Doctor's note in order to receive them.
At DHS Health Care Service you can expect to be treated with dignity and respect. All of your information is kept private and confidential as per our Privacy Policy. DHS respects your right to make your own decisions. DHS is available to provide you support by phone 24 hours per day. The Health Services Manager visits clients in their homes to perform assessments, ensure client satisfaction, and supervise staff.
