DHS Health Service - Nursing and Home Support, Durham Region, Ontario Canada

Home Support

Home Support Workers assist clients with care for the client's home. As the overall goal is for clients to maintain as much independence as possible, DHS Home Support Workers only assist clients with the services their clients want and need help with. There is no age limit or requirement for assistance with Home Support. Home Support Workers at DHS do much more than light housekeeping. Home Support Workers can change bed linens, laundry, assist with organization, provide safety supervision and remind to take medications. Home Support Workers can work a few hours every other week for light housekeeping up to 24 hours per day for clients who need someone there to maintain their house and supervise them but still remain independent with their personal care, such as someone with advanced Alzheimer's disease.
